Don't use biometrics on your devices. Just don't.

Use codes, preferably alphanumeric, not just PIN (numbers).
Make the alphanumeric code 10 characters long at least. Include upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters, i.e., neither number nor letter, but %, -, +, etc. One can adjust the device timeout settings to a longer period of time, to reduce any 'inconvenience' in the frequency with which one must re-input the alphanumeric codes.
Disable biometrics in the device, too. Go into the settings and locate all the sorts of biometrics, including fingerprints or face, and disable their use to unlock or access the device.
There are many good reasons to use manual-input alphanumeric codes on devices. They are more secure and can be changed if needed.
There are many good reasons not to use biometrics on devices. They are less secure and cannot be changed. Once your biometric data is copied or breached, it poses greater security risks than for example a breach of an alphanumeric code, which can be changed. Use alphanumerics.
Do it now.
You'll thank me later. Now is fine, too.
